Treasure Bound is an engaging turn-based treasure hunt game on hex grids that players must navigate through to find gold coins and avoid traps while spending their available shovel power wisely. Players usually start off in one corner, aiming for a central location with multiple hidden gems. They use shovels strategically by reading the board before uncovering treasures as they move along; this strategy helps them maximize treasure finds without wasting time on unnecessary actions like digging through non-existent areas or taking too many turns unnecessarily to reach their goal.

The game offers two modes: Adventure and Clear Solo Levels, each with its own unique gameplay mechanics. In adventure mode (Clear solo levels), players clear a set number of shovels before uncovering treasures; this allows them more time for exploration while still being able to claim the biggest finds without losing too many treasure points.
